Transport hub Oerlikon (Zurich)
An incredibly elegant transport hub opened recently in one of the new districts of Zurich. The station and the surrounding area are called Oerlikon and are located on the route of trains from the airport to the city center.
The complex of buildings includes a platform for urban and suburban trains (which perform in Zurich the role of the subway) combined with bus stops.
Striking rationality and elegance of space-planning solutions made in the best traditions of “classical” constructivism.
When I come across objects with such a level of understanding of constructivist aesthetics, I once again think about what architecture might look like in modern Russia, if not for the rich “turning point and incredibly great events” of the twentieth century.
